Holiday Season

The Holiday Season seems to bring our monetary availability front & center; I am sure that we are not the only ones feeling the crunch of the current economic situation in the good ole USA these days. I will have to say that God is good all the time, all the time God is good. No matter the economy, our Lord provides our needs & more. Faith in Him has sustained us through our 25 years together(and before)and will continue to do so until He calls us home. It is just more difficult to spread it around these days. Sometimes it feels as though we should make an effort to live as our ancestors did in the horse & buggy days, but my grandmother has told me how tough times were then, too! The main thing is to be thankful to God, no matter our circumstances economically, and to love Him & one another.

Self Employment Blessings

I thank the Lord for His rich blessings in our lives. He has made it possible for us to have a business which has allowed us to be available for our children. I had a business at home which allowed me to keep both of our children with me until they started to school; I was available to take them and pick them up; and were able to attend band, sports and activities throughout the years for our son and now our daughter. Few parents are able to arrange their schedules at work to allow for all that children can be involved in, but we have been fortunate to be able to do so.
Now that our children are older, I am often able to go with my husband on service calls. On occasion, I can be on the job site with him. We are thankful for cell phones as they allow us to have contact throughout the day.
We would love to hear from other couples/families who are self-employed and work together in the family business.
